Love, love, love.
I can’t believe I’m talking like this.
About a Natural Hair product that just a few months ago I didn’t even know exist.
So felt compelled to express my feelings in a poem.
“My hair, my Curly hair is so remarkably Alive

Thank you for creating your amazing 1,2,3,4 Coily Hair Care product system. I definitely relate to the product and really like the specific reference to Coily Hair! I have been Natural for over 15 years and love the freedom and beauty.
Your attention to detail and the high quality products are very impressive. I have tight Coily Hair which is thick and full of body. I reside in the Hot-Lanta area and really focus on products that perform well, use high quality ingredients and compliment my lifestyle.
Just receiving the first package made me feel so good. The beautiful packaging, the way everything was organized, the beautiful instructions, and nice surprise(s) inside. I couldn’t have dreamed of a better package!
My Coils have responded so well to the products. The Light Mister, the Leave-In- Conditioner, the Lock-In Oil, and the Light Holding Gel. The feeling of all the products are so smooth and light to the touch, on my Curls and on my scalp. They all work together so nicely in my Natural Hair. No residue at all, not heavy, no chemicals or chemical odors.
My Coils now only want KelCie and so do I. All the products do exactly what they say, and absorb so well into my hair with absolutely no buildup. My scalp is also much healthier, no itching or flaking. And looks great.

Locs Lov’in Family,
I started my natural hair journey approximately 23 years ago. I have worn Locs for the last 21 years. I am extremely health conscious, and because I live my life from the “ inside, out” I am always looking for products that are healthy and all natural.
I start each day centered on knowing who I am, what I’m doing, and understanding what’s going into my body to ensure I’m my best self for me, my family and my friends.
My focus on health doesn’t just include what I eat or what I consume regarding intellectual content, but very much extends to what goes into keeping my Locs healthy, flowing and growing. I started using KelCie Nu-Genesis back in March and I’m loving the experience.
My go to product in the system is the Lock-In-Oil. I just love the All-natural oils! From receiving the package in the mail to that first application, I experienced the KelCie Nu-Genesis difference. I could see and feel the attention to detail and that they understood the importance of high quality ingredients being essential for natural hair.
The thickness of the product is amazingly just right and is very nice and light to the touch. The oil goes on easy and really absorbs extremely well into my hair and scalp, leaving no buildup, no breakage, or no itchy scalp. Additionally, I love the light fragrance. No chemical smells or that heavy product feeling.
I’m so pleased with the LIO that I started using it on my teenage daughter’s Locs too, as I’m her Loctician, and hair time is our quality time together.

My Coily Hair Journey
I can’t believe it’s been almost 18 months. A year and a half of exclusively using
KelCie’s Coily Hair Care System.
But what I do know is that it has transformed my Coily hair. Today it’s amazingly
Soft, Longer, Fuller, with a smooth to the touch and satin like sheen. No oily,
waxy, pasty, crunchy feeling. No buildup or white looking stuff in my Coily hair.
Just my, yes, my, beautiful Coily hair.
I love saying that “beautiful and my Coily hair in one sentence.” Yes Great, not good hair, but great hair. Mine. And I love touching and twirling it…. I don’t even know
when I’m doing it anymore. I catch myself and smile a smile. On the inside and out.
So beautiful my Coils, that my coworkers have been constantly trying to touch it
(which can be a little irking)… Asking “if that is a natural style wig.” Can you believe
it. Me the queen of the wigs.
This journey was special, because I used KelCie to start my transition to going
fully natural after years of wigs and other styles.
For years I admired the Founder’s natural salt and pepper hair. And one day I asked what she did, and what products did she use. To my surprise she said, “I went natural and use my own products. But I’m still perfecting them and once I have the product system complete, I’d love to have you become one of our founding consumers as part of a long-term in-home product test.”
From the moment KelCie informed me that I’d been selected for the in-home test, my excitement was on. You see, my Coily hair is the type that’s dense, thick and after washing shrinks up very tightly. Kinda like gets matted to my head. And hard for the comb to easily pass through without added moisture, with lots of breakage and loose ends along the way.
No pun intended, but as my Mother always said, “Where did you get this hard, course hair...” Sometimes even using that dreaded word, “Knotty!” Oh, how I hated that.
Leading to that Cultural tabu feeling and saying, known to all Afro-centric
households all over the world, “Where’d you get this BAD hair.”
Truthfully, I’ve tried all the leading brands, not going to name them, but you
know them. And here I was feeling like maybe this time I would find a product
that worked for me. I kept remembering the Founder’s hair and how amazing it
looked. And our conversation as she shared her journey to natural, and why
she was compelled to develop this product line. She knew what I was going
through, what I was seeking.
When the package arrived, right away I knew it was different. The simple and
natural packaging, the thoughtfulness, the organization. The fact that it arrived in a recyclable box, not those delivery plastic bags I’d gotten with my other online purchases.
I’m a very visual person and like things a certain way…. And as I continued to
unpack, I continued to be pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail, the
instructions, the package design, the calming effect of the colors, and simple
informative labeling. No multicolored bottles or labels or caps. Just a simple
sophistication. And what the bottles arrived in was so cool. Everyone who was
there that night was trying to claim it. Love it!
Again, pulled everything out, so organized, so helpful, all-in-one, the packaging, the use of sprayers and pumps. No more having to dip into jars, product spilling, loose hairs and broken ends collecting in jars. None of that.
I was ready, had my niece on hand to help me, as she’s the expert on natural
styling (twist, braids, cornrows, you name it).
From the first spray of the Hair Mist Spritzer to the pump of Light Styling Gel,
we were all simply amazed at the quality, smoothness, and especially the
lightness of all the products. So light and smooth. And that fragrance. That
fragrance got me. So pleasant, soothing, calming. I kept taking deep breaths.
Just So spa like.
Right away we saw the product starting to work, to moisturize and hydrate my
hair. I felt this tingly feeling as we applied the product and remember when my
niece said, “Wow, Aunt Hazel this is really working.”
No waxy feeling, no buildup of pasty heavy products on my hair or hands. The
applications were absorbing into my very Coily hair. When we finished twisting,
another immediate observation was the reduction of breakage and loose hair
that would normally be everywhere and all over the towel, around my shoulders,
when getting my hair done. My twists were moist and nice.
I tied down my hair with a scarf, feeling so hopeful.
The next day, my twist were soft and layered. No residue, no waxiness, not
crunchy or that brittle feeling! Even my pillow was relatively dry.
Within two to three weeks, I could feel and see the difference in my Coils.
They were alive, bouncy, and healthy. And really light. My Coily hair was not only soft, but it actually grew in and became fuller, with rich definition and really nice
manageability.
My family was like, “oh my God, Hazel, I can’t believe your hair!” Even my
Mom, was in disbelief, all the while smiling with her Bajan accent.
I start my day with the Hair Mist Spritzer. It gives my hair a lift and a bounce. Like an energizer for your hair. It's so light, with a soft fragrance. The Leave-In Conditioner is really a new thing for me. I never used a Leave-In Conditioner before switching to KelCie. It's smooth texture and light consistency has been an added benefit in moisturizing and hydrating my Coils and scalp. It detangles like really well. Eliminating knots and breakage. The Lock-In-Oil is so unique. It's so light and literally absorbs into your hair and scalp. It even leaves your hands feeling nice. Not heavy, sticky, or chemically at all. I apply at night or a little in the morning for touch ups. And the Light Styling Gel is perfect for keeping it all together. And it too absorbs into my very Coily hair. I especially use on my ends. And again, no crunchiness or brittleness.
Again, the last 18 months have been quite a journey navigating all the change.
But this change has been so positive, regarding my hair routines and the
healthiness of my Coily hair and scalp.
KelCie, really allowed me to learn about my natural Coily hair and how to care it.
Like, how much is the “just right amount” of each product for my Coily hair.
Noticing the individual strands, the feel, the look. Appreciating myself and my
Coily hair and coming face to face with that truth. That moment when you
embrace something that’s a part of you… You know what I mean???
And love, love, love that I no longer have this mashup of all these different
brands and products, tubes, jars, this, and that…. As I’ve shared with KelCie,
this is such a relief and stress reducer.

Today I’m so proud of my Coily hair journey with KelCie. As shared, I really love
my hair. I love the way it looks, the way it feels, no more itchy or dry scalp.
And most of all the way it makes me feel!
I feel good, about me and my hair. My Coily hair.

Hi, I'm Tiffany,
Young mom of a teenager and kindergartener, wife, & former professional hairstylist.
When KelCie reached out to me, it started with gaining my input and professional opinion on what the best ingredients are for natural hair. With a focus of understanding the effects on Coily and Kinky hair. Based on my
training, and many years of interactions with clients, and knowing their common likes and dislikes. I really shared and talked about the importance of quality ingredients for natural Kinky, Coily hair. And that the ingredients need to easily hydrate and absorb into the hair strands. Hydration is essential for Coily and Kinky hair. It's a key benefit to maintaining the right pH balances for healthy hair strands.
You see, often I found that many products do not really absorb into Coily or
Kinky hair. Rather those products lay on, and eventually builds up on the hair
strands. And accumulates on the scalp, leading to itchy and flaking heads. The
other thing that I shared, is that many products are not really formulated for Kinky or Coily hair. But rather, are quite generic.
And can have an unintentional negative effect.
Yes, lots of ingredients in hair care products are often the same, but Kinky hair
and Coily hair really need hydration and moisture to ensure good long-term health and growth.
We also talked a lot about packaging and what I looked for regarding labels and understanding what makes a product premium and high quality.
Our conversations eventually led to getting my opinion about the products
themselves, and to my surprise, whether I would participate in using the
products exclusively over a long period, once they became available.
Keep in mind, these talks occurred over several years… And by the time they
asked me to participate in their product in-home test, I had resigned from the professional hair care industry to become a full time Mom with the birth of our second son.
It was then that I became intimately involved with seeing the KelCie Product System work up close and personal. First, to see and feel the product quality was like, wow! All those discussions actually turned into a real product.
And all so very appealing.
Second, The Easy 1+2+3+4 Product System, and that each product was specially formulated to work together was so different to me. Often, it’s total trial by error, or mix and matching of products to get the desired results one wants for their Coily, Kinky Natural Hair.
Upon receiving the products in the mail, it was like, “this is a whole kit. A complete System!” Like some of the custom products and prescribed therapy
products I’d seen while in the salons. Or custom blends I’ve seen come
from dermatologist.
I became anxious and excited to try them on myself and the Family. I set out the
products and right away started sampling each one, Step 1, 2, all the way to
Step 4. Looking at the ingredients and going, “this is really good stuff.”
These are the type of ingredients I would’ve used if developing my own line of
Coily Hair Products.
The Hair Mist Spritzer is really a breakthrough. In that it totally hydrates the hair.
You feel it working with a little tingle like feeling. I have really thick, full-bodied hair, and it’s really long. So though Kinky, my strands are long and really dense per square inch of section of hair. The high-quality ingredients of the Spritzer also stood out. So clean, containing both natural and organic. And these specific ingredients are recognized for aiding healthy hydration and providing nutrition for hair strands and the scalp.
Next, the Step-2 Leave-In-Conditioner is silky smooth and enrobes the hair strands, while saturating and detangling the hair. It’s also incredibly light and feels so nice on your hands. Not pasty or waxy. Or having to constantly wipe
your hands when applying. The moisturization is first class all the way… Based on my first-hand experience dealing with many different brands, products, and private blends. The Leave-In Conditioner is very spa like in appearance,
texture, and fragrance.
I truly appreciated the pump style packaging too. Very convenient and eliminates a lot of mess common with jars and tubes. Not having to deal with the messy opening, closing, or cleaning out loose hairs which occur from having
to dip your fingers into jars.
So impressed with the Leave-In Conditioner’s consistency and the formulation is quite impressive and compliments the Spritzer. I use the Leave-In Conditioner as a touchup in between washes in the morning and evenings before
going to bed.
Step 3, the Lock-In-Oil. Well, this is a transformational product. First thing that stood out to me, was the number of top recommended natural oils included in the formulation. Including, both natural and organic oils. Second, was the look and feel of the product. Could not believe this was a Hair Oil. It was incredibly super light. One of the lightest hair oils I’d ever encountered. It’s now the Family’s must have Hair Oil!!! More on that in my next post.
Excuse me, but please allow me to keep talking about the Lock-In Oil. The Lock-In-Oil is so smooth and “feathery”. If that’s such a word. So light. And blends into the Coils so nicely. As the third step, it does seal in the moisture and acts as another nice layer absorbing into the Coily hair strands. Providing the much-needed moisture important for Coily, Kinky Hair growth and healthiness. My hair and scalp were experiencing this tingly sensation. Really liked that. And you could really see and feel the 3-Steps all working together. The Lock-In-Oil really locking in Steps 1&2.
And interestingly, they all have the same wonderful fragrance that is so soothing and relaxing. Make you kinda forget you’re doing your hair…. Imagine that… Another unique benefit of the KelCie Product System vs. many of the other products on the market. They all have different fragrances and or aromas…. And often they are so off-putting or unpleasant. But you put up with it. Because that’s just the way it is.
Step 4, the Light Styling Gel. Again! This was truly “LIGHT”. So nice and just exceeding my expectations. Cause it went on light and stayed light and soft after applying. Never forming that crunchy or brittle feeling you can get with
other products.
The Light Styling Gel honestly sealed in the Hair Mist Spritzer, the Leave-In Conditioner, and the Lock-In-Oil. Not too be a broken record, but they all worked together. And again, the top ingredients used in all 4 of the products blew me away. After using several times, I could feel the difference. My Kinky hair was so soft and manageable. And we all noticed the beautiful sheen it gave my hair. The big bonus for me personally was noticing the elimination of breakage, loose ends and no more itchy scalp. In fact, my scalp became healthier, having that nice radiant look.
Also, one of the things I would highly recommend the KelCie 1+2+3+4 Product System for, is that its excellent for protective hairstyles like braids, twist, cornrows. All of that… And a little more.
I will end this testimonial by saying, not only did KelCie meet my expectations for a high-quality Natural Hair Product for Kinky, Coily Hair… it exceeded it.

As a cancer survivor I’m very sensitive about my hair...I know the anxiety and
stress associated with not only losing your hair due to lifesaving treatments and
medications, but also the wonder and fascination of whether it would ever grow
back...Would it be the same or different. Would it be long or short? Thick or thin and all the thoughts and emotions that run in between.
I’ve spent the last 18 months exclusively using KelCie’s Coily Hair Care System on my hair. Whether in twist, in braids, with my extensions or simply combed out and brushed back. I’m Christina with my eight-year-old daughter MaKayla…. I’m biracial of Spanish and Bajan decent, and MaKayla’s Dad is Afro-American, Marcus. Hair is a big deal in our house, as there’s lots of it. Lotta time involved, and a lotta
styles. Especially with MaKayla. She loves getting her hair done and I take pride in doing it. All the natural styles, braids, twist, cornrows. All that.
My hair is very wavy and curly, full bodied and lots of it. MaKayla’s is kinky, long, and very fine. I really enjoy doing her hair, though it can take a little time depending on what’s going on.
When my Auntie asked if we’d participate in the extended in-home test, it seemed like it would be ok, and kinda cool. We all loved her natural salt and pepper hair and all the amazing ways she’d always show up.
Honestly, though I wasn’t really expecting to see anything dramatic or anything like that. You know what I mean…. She’s family, you know.
But once we received the product, it was like ok. Wait a minute, what’s up with this… The package arrived in the mail, the box arriving, opening it, being like oh snap…. This is my Aunt! Aunt Debbie showing out. Like really, really impressed.
It was so professional and high end. Everything laid out so nicely and easy to follow. We were like, oh wow. The bottles, the colors, just the quality and presentation. I was feeling so proud. But then again that’s what I should’ve
expected knowing Auntie. She’s always on point. With her attention to detail and care she puts into everything and everyone. Even the instructions and tips included. All the products were either pumps or sprayers. No jars or messy tubes. Right away I put away all the other various products we were using around the house.
Marcus even was like, “YO! sign me up for that.” Like he was really into it. Next thing I know he’s like putting it on his beard and mustache, like loving the smell and the way it went on… He’s like this is so light and smooth. Right away he’s like claiming the Lock-In-Oil. “I’m like hold up…”
Like I said right away we knew this was different. All-in-1. The Easy 1+2+3+4 Product Steps…. All the products numbered.
I’m like NO MORE MiXinG & MATching Products and brands and scents and fragrances. None of that!!!
After using on myself the 1st couple of days, I noticed my hair’s manageability was way better than my favorite brand. My hair was no longer accumulating any buildup, or residue. Or drying up and having that crunchy springy like feeling…. Know what I mean? I really didn’t like that, but I had come to accept it. Also, the natural sheen my hair was giving off, was so nice. Marcus had commented too… “Like man, girl your hair is shining.”
So nice after washing my hair. I love, love, love that Step-2 Leave-In-Conditioner. It’s now my choice of Leave-In-Conditioner. The quality is so off the charts. And absorbs so nicely into my wavy curly hair. This is so important to
me because I wash my hair frequently.
Doing MaKayla’s hair became easier as it made her fine Kinky hair even softer with very little tangling or breakage in the brush or comb. She really likes the fragrance. And it is very soothing during our hair time. That’s when we talk, share ideas and other things.
MaKayla’s hair is very long. Kinky, but long and very fine. The kinda hair that’s easy to braid or cornrow into the very fine styles…. Like where the braids are really thin and lots of them. I’ve gotten pretty good at doing her hair too, and being really creative :)
The difference with KelCie was like, the quality. Each product was so good, and you can tell that each one was meant to work with each other. That’s something I have not really experienced before. Reading the ingredients labels was like, wow so many natural or organic ingredients. In each one, you would see these top ingredients that are recommended for Natural hair.
MaKayla’s hair took to it right away. The Hair Mist Spritzer, the Leave-In Conditioner Steps 1, 2, to start. The hydration was so excellent. And the way they absorbed into her hair. My biggest problem was figuring out the
“Just Right Amount”. Cause you know Our hair is all so different.
Then the Lock-In Oil… I’m blown away with how light and smooth. Honestly, it’s hard to believe its Hair Oil compared to other hair oils we’ve used. The others tend to be heavy and lay on your hair. And your hands.
And finally, the Light Styling Gel. Bringing it all together so nicely. Almost hard to put into words. You really must see it and feel it. The consistency of the Light Holding Gel is really good. Very light, more like a fine skin lotion.
Honestly, like the 1+2+3+4 Product Steps are real. And that’s really nice.
MaKayla’s braids and cornrows, really took on a glow. Like they stayed looking fresh. Applying a little Spritzer or Leave-In Conditioner or Lock-In Oil, in between washings was so easy. I just feel that KelCie is like the best for all protective styles. Really!
And when she wore her hair out, the Light Holding Gel really worked. Eliminating the frizziness and providing nice control.
As I said at the beginning, Marcus began using the product too. The surprise for him, was how it worked on his beard. Like after a couple of days we noticed how soft and manageable his beard became. And it was no longer brittle or breaking or having that gruff feel or look. He found that applying the Lock-In Oil and Leave-In-Conditioner at night and then again in the morning worked.
After a month or two, you saw the fullness, the luster and softness of his beard. He applied the same easy 1+2+3+4 Product Steps to his beard (Without the braiding or twisting of his beard… Ha-ha.) But just applying and working it
in. Though it’s long enough now to actually twist. Lol.
We thank you KelCie and Auntie for including us in the in-home test. It’s the first time we’ve all used the same hair care products as a family. Can’t wait for the products to become available to everyone!

I’ve known the Co-Founder and his Family since our days in High School. We go way back and continue to hang out and stay in touch to this day….
So, a couple of years ago while chill’n over breakfast, I mentioned that I was going to start growing in my beard. Having recently retiring early, and no longer having to meet any dress codes etc.
After a couple of months of my newfound freedom and growing in my beard, I noticed that though coming in, it was a little spotty and inconsistent in some areas. Especially on the sides. Didn’t think much of it, just thought it
was part of the process.
Several months later we hung out again, this time doing an early morning bike ride and then lunch at this little hole in the wall Mexican place. As we chatted things up, he said, “I see you Bro. Beard’s coming in… How are you liking
that?”
I said, “loving it and the freedom it brings.” All he said was, “cool”. Then he said, “hey want you to try Our Products. I think you’ll see a difference.”
I knew he’d been working on this New Product-line for many years. I said “sure”, and well, here we are over a year later. And what a difference KelCie has made on my beard. Man, that Lock-In Oil is all that… Remember, prior to KelCie, my beard was coming in a bit spotty and tended to be a little gruff and dry. It also didn’t have a real luster or natural sheen. In other words, like, dull. It was neither here nor there. Just laid flat with little to no body.
Well man, after using KelCie, I started to notice the difference almost like overnight. I literally applied the Lock-In Oil before going to bed at first and noticed how soft and manageable it became. Yo, and the fragrance was so cool.
Really refreshing. Like a messuage, or aroma oils.
Then I noticed not only was it now soft, but it was growing fuller and filling in those spotty areas. Remember that. My wife even started commenting on how good my beard was looking and how much softer and healthier it was
feeling.
I even had to begin trimming it more often. Note, I’m not one of those high maintenance types. So hopefully you get me.
Next, I started applying more Lock-In Oil in the mornings, and again I noticed even more improvement, especially with the fullness, and body of my beard. Had to even start brushing and combing it through. Love the softness and
the richness of my beard, and way it filled in along the sides. Really nice.
Before KelCie, it was just there like. No big deal. Now I’m really into grooming my beard and keeping it trim and tight. Honestly, I’m proud of it!
